The Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha, Nebraska
The Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is known for animal conservation and amazing exhibits. It has 160 acres to explore. The African Grasslands has 28 acres of natural habitat and animals. Giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, rhinos, and smaller animals live and feed here.
The African Grasslands provide visitors with a chance to feed the animals and observe them in their natural living environment. The Asian Highlands being developed will expose tourist to grasslands, mountains and forest in Asia and China. A diverse group of animals will wander this habitat. They will have red pandas, cranes, sloths, bears, tigers,leopards, and more.
This zoo has the largest indoor dessert exhibit called The Dessert Dome. It has plants and animals from three different desserts. The Kingdom of the Night explores the life of night creatures and their habits. The Lied Jungles is a rain forest with waterfalls, tropical plants, and amazing animals from the real rain forests.
Don’t forget to explore the Hubbard Gorilla Valley and Owen Sea Lion Pavillion. Sue’s Wildlife Carsousel is a ride designed for adults and children. Transportation around the zoo is provided by train, tram, and open air chairlifts depending on the weather. The Lozier Theater is currently upgrading its projection system to 3D digital.
